Tim McGraw and Faith Hill announced “Soul2Soul The World Tour 2017” kicking off in New Orleans on April 7, 2017 and will be making a stop at Citizens Business Bank Arena on July 22, 2017. The 65-city tour celebrates the 10th anniversary of the record-breaking “Soul2Soul II” tour, the highest-grossing multi-year country music tour of all time, and the first time Faith Hill has toured since 2007.
The L.A. Clippers and the NBA Development League announced that the Clippers have acquired the right to own and operate an NBA D-League team that will begin play in Ontario, California for the 2017-18 season when the league will be called the NBA Gatorade League. The team’s name will be the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario.
Dynamic International Airways will operate roundtrip charter flights between Ontario and Nanchang, China, this summer.For seven weeks beginning this July, the Greensboro, NC-based carrier will operate charter service between Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Nanchang Changbei International Airport (KHN) with intermediate stops in Anchorago, Alaska (ANC). Located in southeastern China, Nanchang is the capital city of Jiangxi province.
Citizens Business Bank Arena recently hosted the only Def Leppard concert in Southern California. We thought it would be interesting to pull a zip code report after the show and WOW we definitely push the needle on visitors to our area. There were 24 states represented at the concert. In fact I ran into a few guests that announced they were from Ontario! I didn’t think much of it since we are in the City of Ontario, but then they said it again and added Canada. Now that’s a fan base – way to rock it Def Leppard, Poison, and Tesla!
CITY OF ONTARIO CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY
The City of Ontario will host several family friendly events on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. The annual Independence Day Parade will begin at 9 AM on southbound Euclid Avenue beginning at Fourth Street and ending at B Street. Following the parade will be the All-States Picnic and Blast at Ontario Town Square by the Ontario/Chaffey Community Show Band in downtown Ontario.
The 19,000-square-foot restaurant and bar featuring bowling lanes, social games and Southern-inspired food, beverages and craft beer has opened at Victoria Gardens in Rancho Cucamonga.
On the main concourse of Citizens Business Bank Arena a tribute to the historic California Jam concerts includes a display of photos, newspaper articles and memorabilia. The land where Citizens Business Bank Arena was built in 2008 was the former Ontario Motor Speedway where two mega concerts occurred in 1974 (Cal Jam 1) and 1978 (Cal Jam II). Over 250,000 music fans gather at each show for a stellar line up of artists including The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, Santana, just to name a few.

Richard Montanez was a janitor at the Frito-Lay plant in Rancho Cucamonga, California. At a recent graduation ceremony at Citizens Business Bank Arena he shared his story with the graduating class of Chaffey College. Montañez recalled grabbing corn from the elote man. Biting into the corn, with all the fixings, he had his revelation. “That looks like a Cheeto. What if I put chili on a Cheeto?’ ” he said.
He and his wife made chili, and he garnished his Cheetos. Next thing he knows, he’s calling the CEO and pitching his idea. The CEO tells him he’ll see him in two weeks.
