The Best of So Cal
Looking for place to take a Sunday drive? An overnight stay in the Greater Ontario region offers a wide variety of locations to relax and enjoy the scenery. It doesn’t have to be summer time to host family and friends but when school is out it seems that we have more visitors to our Southern California home. Recently we offered our guests a choice for a day adventure – the mountains or the ocean. Whether you are a visitor or resident in the Greater Ontario region you are smack in the middle of these two destinations with less than an hour drive time.
Big Bear Lake is a popular area year round – from snow skiing to water skiing – this beautiful Alpine Lake is always impressive. Recently, our house guests from London were amazed at how quickly you could drive up to the 7,000 feet altitude of Big Bear Lake. In the summer time the average temperature is 72 degrees and you can count on brilliant sunshine to make the lake sparkle.
The Southern California beaches are icon, a place where we can all take a deep breath and enjoy a stroll along the water’s edge. From surfers to sand castles there is always a plethora of activities at the beach. This day trip took us to Balboa for Sunday brunch on the Back Bay and then a walk along the pier where we enjoyed the Dolphins putting on a show as they frolicked in the surf.
The Greater Ontario region has all the amenities to work, live and play. Best of all it is centrally located to create an even larger variety of choices when asked “What do you want to do this weekend?” No wonder so many people that arrive here for a work related trip end up staying for a weekend of play.
